The local authorities surprised host team Switzerland with a special local delicacy in the shape of a four-leaved clover to wish them all the best for the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships on home soil.
The anticipation for the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships rises. St. Gallen and Herisau are already looking forward to welcoming the future stars of international floorball from May 2 to May 6.
City councillor Markus Buschor and Tobias Treichler, vice-president of St. Gallen-Bodensee Tourismus, thus had a special surprise for the local heroines on Saturday in the heart of St. Gallen, which already hosted the Women’s World Floorball Championships in 2011.
Buschor and Treichler surprised the Swiss national team with a local delicacy in the shape of four-leaved clover.
“It is a pleasure and an honour to host the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships. I asked myself if this team even need a lucky charm as they will be the artisans of your own fortune,” Buschor said.
And the Swiss team set the bar high for the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships in front of their fans. Switzerland Coach Aldo Casanova is convinced his squad are ready for the big coup as he reassured the hosts’ ambitions to fight for gold in the U19 WFC final.
Project director Reto Gyger, on the other hand, is sure that all the participants are to enjoy perfect conditions for this major event. “We are doing everything in our power to provide professional conditions for the floorball stars of tomorrow,” Gyger explained.
The big floorball party is due to start on May 2nd with the first group stage games in St. Gallen and Herisau. Swiss Floorball fans will have the opportunity to support their heroines on the same day at 19.00 in St. Gallen.
